Just pulled this one from a 1963 mint bag

Anyone know what this error would be called?

Struck by a reverse die cap, with obverse brockage. This coin was produced probably several strikes after the initial coin was struck, then stuck and capped to the reverse die, as the effigy is enlarged and starting to stretch out. Any other similar coins in the bag? If you find the matching die cap - now THAT would be a cool find!!

Very cool. But the question for me....how on earth does a coin like this end up with a fingerprint. Did someone at the mint in 1963 consciously throw it in the bag?

The Mint bag it came from was sealed. Wouldnt that be a bag mark on the coin. If not, Definitely a mint employee then.

Very neat coin. You can see the finning on the rim of the obverse which seems to be common to brockage errors. Presumably caused by the increased die pressure.
