This looks to me like a struck on silver planchet. Whats the thoughts here. It's in a set I found through a friend that's available for sale. I think there's 58 or so coins in the set. Thanks in advance.

PMD, it looks like someone plated the penny.

I would say some further tests are needed to determine if it is off metal or PMD. not all coins like this are PMD but the majority are. I lucked out and mine was sold to me as a counterfeit but it turned out to be an off metal.
