Hello. Here is my new coin, 1918 WLHD. I bought it for 57$. In my opinion it is XF40-45, problem free coin. What do you think? Thank you for your answers.

Not too shabby, you can even see some luster throughout the coin. And I'm grading this one XF45.

I thought XF coins do not have luster.

Yes, top loop looks strange to me also, but I saw the same loop at PCGS examples, so I think everything is ok. Also, I looked at many AU53-55 1918 50c and I am curious, why they have so weak strike of berries at top of the coin (near Liberty's Head)? In my coin, berries are very nice detailed, like at MS coin. But obviously my coin is max AU50, so it is quite odd to me, but also I am very happy with those nice details:) Also, what is interesting, David Lawrence wrote at his blog, that early WLHD had very weak Liberty's skirt lines. I didn't know this. Here is link to this article:

Its a very nice coin, you usually cant find them as much in that condition as you can in a lower one. I`d say EF-40 and $57 ain't bad.

I think you're looking at a slightly different basining process for different dies. Basining was done individually (of course) for each die, and slight differences in the amount applied would have a significant effect on the peripheral strike of a coin. The "weaker" coins you saw would also likely have flattening of the letters in LIBERTY towards the rim; you can see this in Peace dollar strikes as well.
