Percentage Of "Unpaid Item" Cases

I've found that some 'buyers' bid on many of the same item, and choose the cheapest winner. I've had secondary account users just pull out of a purchase for obscure reasons and they have no activity on their accounts-or haven't been active with the account for years, sometimes makes me wonder if it's a seller with the same product killing competition.

There are unfortunately these cases happening more often then not, I've also won items and had the sellers refuse to sell the item-or just not send it and refund suspiciously immediately and re-list the item again. The best thing you can do is block certain users on your block list i.e. numerous strike buyers, any of the people who have failed a legally binding contractual agreement between you and them for suspicious reasons, and many other options.

ebay is like life, it is great but does have it's flaws.

For example, last Sunday's auctions, I had 13 items listed. Still waiting for 4 to be paid. And those winners were all snipers at the end.

Another example, I sold a BIN last night. Since I forgot to check the immediate payment required, that buyer hasn't paid as well.


I never open cases on my own, but I have ebay do it for me automatically after four days.

What really stuns me is that high feedback buyers do this. And I waited 10 days for a buyer to pay for a 1886 V nickel. Especially when all his other feedback tell tales of superfast pyment... If I was to purchase a key or semi-key, I'd pay asap.

I don't sell on ebay but I have purchased several things over the years.

As soon as the auction ends and it shows me as the winner, I pay especially if it ends on Sunday--they can get it ready and shipped out on Monday.

@AgCoinAu yes, you will an option next to the item saying second chance offer. The only problem with that is, after time is lost due to non payment. The second highest bidder has most likely already bought the item elsewhere, not all the time but a high percentage of the time. Then the seller has to re-list the item and start over, and with selling time is money. It effectively solidifies your liquid stock for longer than need be, which annoys me personally.

But these things happen, best thing to do is block the people from buying from you and jump back on the horse.

Justin almost no one has a problem with that if they communicate. It's the ones that win and never say anything that's the problem. It only takes a few seconds to say "hey I won't be able to pay till x date, let me know if that's a problem" or something like that. The key is just communication or lack of it for whether or not it's an issue

Polite communication between buyer and seller pays off
in the establishment of a good relationship.

I've only had 5 non-pay cases opened. One person paid, 4 did not and I won the case. Pain either way!

I have mine set up to block bidders with 2 or more non-paying strikes within the last 6 months and the log it keeps has shown that it has prevented a fair amount of bids. I'd rather not get the sale than take a risk on someone with 2 strikes in that short amount of time.
