Hello. Can you grade this coin for me? In my opinion it is XF-details coin. And please tell me, what do you think about strike weakness (shield and left wheat at reverse). I don't think it is wear, because coin has too nice details in their other parts. I read that 1860 H10c (Legend obverse type) had some problems with dies, maybe you guys know anything more about this? Thank you.

I believe that you are correct with an XF grade. The details of the corn kernels and
the wheat and bow on the right hand side are sharp. The clasp of the left shoulder is visible and the pole to the cap has three-dimensionality.
Most likely a weak die and/or a incomplete strike.
Thus the grade is:
"XF-40 with strike weaknesses."

the coin is cleaned so hard that I do not think that is strike weakness. I think it was polished to a place that the person performing the cleaning wore the area down severely. The rim at 9:00 on the obverse and corresponding reverse seem to be very much flattened by something.

Rest in Peace

It also has some good scratches on the reverse. Definitely a problem coin....but I think it's strike weakness. EF-45 detail.

The weakness on the upper left of reverse is extremely common. I think it can make 40.

I agree with dsfreeworld. it appears to have been polished and/or harshly cleaned a while ago. If you dont already own it, I would pass

Strike weakness on Liberty Seated coinage was something that certainly existed. However, look at the sharpness and detail on the rest of the shield area. If there were to be typical obverse strike weakness, it would occur within the horizontal lines of the shield and Liberty's head as was common on the dime of the series.

I am not sure you could get the mint to miss two complete letters of (LI)BERTY in the shield. I will go all-in on a hard polishing and cleaning. I agree with Panz, I would seek a better example and in time one will reveal itself. Buying problem coins such as this turn out to be a waste of money and I know I have suffered that myself and wished I had not when the right example finally revealed itself.

Thank you for your answers. To be honest, I thought that this coin was cleaned, but I didn't realize it may be harshly cleaning. I paid for this Half Dime 18$ with shipping and I was pretty happy with that price. About the shield - I had also doubts about that, but seller has assured me, it is just strike weakness. What convinced me, it was weakness of the left wheat - I imagined that this spot and the shield at obverse it is exactly the same point of the coin, so I thought it is maybe some error at dies.
