1959 5c Jefferson nickel w/ Improper Allow Mix Black Beauty

I found this pretty 1959 5c Jefferson nickel with Improper Allow Mix aka "Black Beauty" in a box of 500 2x2 Lincoln cents I bought 2 months ago I but it aside because it was supposed to be 1940-1960 bu cents. the box had 10 Barber dimes, 3 large cents and 30-40 error coins treasures mixed in it. It was labeled improper alloy mix.

At the Philadelphia Mint in 1959, a batch of nickel planchets was left in the furnace too long after the annealing process, resulting in a black appearance. Collectors call it the "Black Beauty" variety.

When the Mint was striking "Black Beauty" nickels, Baltimore was known as the city where most of the nickels were sent. It used more nickels than any other city. Baltimore city received seven 15-ton shipments of nickels a year.

I've seen the annealing issue on 57 and 58 "P" mint coins, too.

westerernsky, awesome I will keep a eye out for those now too to make a set... I bought all 500 coins for $30 so this was almost a face value score.

I found this 59 a few years ago in a bank roll.
Stuck out like a sore thumb in the roll. First two pics
are scans so the detail and color is not that great. Edge pic.
is a pic. :) The color of these is not actually black but a gun ship
type dark gray. The color must run all the way through the coin/planchet
in order to be a true BB
Long story, but this coin has since received a slight gouge on the reverse. It's a clean cut but deep enough so one can see the color
through the coin not just another enviro. surface damaged coin.

they are far from black in tone a lot of people get them confused with PMD acid bath like the second from last on the top row. (making a collection PMD nickels to show what is not a variety or error)

Sorry, I'm not seeing any of the coins shown here as black beauties.

If you not the coins on Mike's site, the color does not wear off. The color goes through the surface of the coin. On the 1959 you can see the color varying which to me indicates toning. The other coins in the thread appear to have been found outdoors or burned. I would assume that unless I opened a OBW roll of a new nickels, that would probably be my best chance of finding these. (the rest of circulation finds would probably be altered) So I'm not really looking for these. It would have to be outstanding for me to identify one.
