I'm trying to see if there are more information on the Engelhard Prospector Silver Rounds.

It looks like American Prospector 1oz Silver rounds were issued from 1982-1987.

- Fractional American Prospector (1/10oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/2 oz)issued in 1985 (is this only year where fractional rounds been issued?)

- Which year is more difficult to acquire - 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, or 1987 ?

- Did all year have reverse variety of either Eagle or Engelhard ?

- Are there any mintage figures available ?

- Were there any proof coins issued ?

Purchased few of these silvers on sale. They looked pretty nice for 30+ year silver rounds. Thanks.

Note; or another question you may want to ask?,
are they real? Most are. IMHO

proper weight, silver plated, nonmagnetic, very deceptive ones are out there.

some may even pass an inductive test,
S.G. for final testing is recommended. If doubtful source?

denco7 - Thanks for the link. It has very good information. One thing it doesn't have is the mintage figures. I guess we'll never know.

tokenmast - I bought them from APMEX so they should be fine. As you said, it looks like there are a lot of counterfeits in ebay and aliexpress. Bit scary.

I have a full set. There are 2 different reverses:
1982 "E" reverse
1983 "E" reverse
1984 "E" reverse
1984 Eagle reverse
1985 Eagle reverse
1986 Eagle reverse
1987 Eagle reverse

so...in 1984 they made 2 versions. I also bought mine from APMEX...6 of the 7 anyway. They are in very good condition (that's just me saying that they're 'purty', not an attempt at a grade)

Did you buy these a while back or order quite a few and get lucky enough to get 6 of the 7...

I just finished my ASE set and think these prospector rounds would be a neat mini set to add to the ASE's.
