The mintmark looks like it took a hit. I don't think it is a faint D, but lets wait for the experts to chime in.

Looks like an uneven strike and the coin just wore more there. The reverse is strong. A weak or ghost "D" would be almost like a shadow where you have to tilt the coin to see it.

I don't believe it's a 22 faint D. IMO it's a normal 22-D with wear, strong reverse.

The correct term is "weak D".

This is a regular 22D, looks like the MM was damaged. VF-20

it's a Vf but not a weak D. Those weak D's are much harder to see.
