This just about knocked my shoes and socks off. My 14 year old daughter gave me this 1829 CBH for Christmas. She used her allowance and baby-sitting money to buy it... It's an O-105 and one needed for the old BCBHDC. I think mom & dad will have to hire her to do some odd jobs around the house over the next few days to help OFFSET her purchase so-to-speak. Total now is 123 coins and 114 differing varieties. Take Care Ben And the obverse crack...

Ben that's sweet! The really neat thing about that is she knew what you wanted/needed. That means she's in-tune to your obsession. My wife/kids wouldn't know what to get me and don't know a thing about grading. I've tried and failed. You're a lucky guy!

She knew enough about your collection to purchase a coin you needed? That is very special.

Great present and great daughter. Most kids that age don't even talk to their parents. Congrads on that present.

Very nice! I got my first coin collecting related gift this year (the RedBook). My gifts were hobby related this year (Hallmark Star Wars ornaments, coin book, air mail stamp for my autograph requests and DVD's). Also this year, it's the FIRST time I ever bought any coins ever other than mint sets. I bought 9 Indian Head cents 1900-1908. I am looking for 1857-1864 cents and the 1909 but I see those are more expensive. Also looking for the 1982 cent set of 7.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Yes, she's a great (not so anymore) little girl and I'm sure there are many more like her in the families of my friends and fellow collectors who responded. :)
Thanks Ben

Wow! I specifically tell my family NOT to buy me coins cause I don't want them overpaying for some gold plated "rare" TPG
