I recently bought this coin, was National Numismatic Certification slab of AU-55. I think I got took, I am having a hard time even getting VF out of it.

Was this in an auction? I've seen some auction houses list NNC slabs like they're legit and they shouldn't. I'd have to pretty much agree with your assessment.

Was on ebay, pictures were small and I made the big mistake of looking at the slab (always buy the coin)

Unfortunately it looks vf to me as well. However, you have some pretty sweet die cracks on the reverse, and what looks like a nice, defined die clash infront of the queens head. I think I'm seeing the leaves from the reverse. Unless the pictures are playing games with me

It looks like a die clash to me too, the grade looks to be about VF-20 or so

The eyelid is still very well formed and complete..so I would give it at least EF..

I think ICCS would grade it VF30.
