Neither. This is very common on 80's zinc cents. Zinc rot or a planchet flaw, I don't remember the correct term.

A MAD will look like an off center strike on one side (usually the obverse) and normal on the other.
A Doubled Die will have a doubled design on much or all of one side of the coin.
I agree with CHD on this one.

The hunt continues but thanks for the input. I won't need it for that much longer, I've been reading & watching a lot of yalls YouTube videos. This is what I plan to finish by July or August  |

Psshhh Drew that's about 3 weeks worth from almost full to where its at meow! I'm just glad I have a 8ft pool table to sort them out on. I also have about 300 more lbs besides that..

I have a 5 gallon water jug I've been working through. I generally go thought a handful of coins a day. :-)

Eventually to the bank. I had a jug of cents that I looked through three times and then turned in. In the end, I wish I kept them for a few more go throughs. You keep learning more and when you do, the coins you had are gone. While that's not a big deal regarding boxes of coins, old jugs of saved pennies have lots of potentially good finds. Be patient; do a thorough search. Then to the bank for new coins to search.
