Machine Damaged Or Hub Doubled?

I was looking at variety vista and noticed something that didn't look correct. Note the examples of MD on this site.

Looking at these you think they got that all wrong. But that is not the case. It is an example of MD on a doubled die. They put images of selected devices and the coin had MD on the hub doubled coin. So don't think the MD is part of the hub doubling on this doubled die. (which is a doubled die on both sides of the coin) with MD on both sides also. I hate it when this happens, but until they get another example of the doubled dies, they will have the MD devices also.
When another example comes in they will probably replace those image with the MD.

I saw this and thought the same thing. But once I saw the notches I knew there was some hub doubling. Sad that this coin also has machine damage.

A lot of half dollars have that issue. Seems like the larger the coin, the more often it happens.
