Ok, let's give this competition thing a try.
I will most likely annoy all of you with 1000 quality (well...) posts on this forum. Such event must be compensated, of course. However, I want to make things a bit interesting. I'm not even halfway the 1000 yet, so there's still a lot of uncertainty - which is exactly what I'm looking for. Also, I want you to do some thinking and to get creative.
So, here's:
The rules
Your status here is at least 'valued member'.

You predict the date when my post count will reach 1000.

Only original posts by competitors posted in this thread will be considered: edited posts and posts in other threads will be excluded!

One guess per person only.

The deadline for guessing is my 750th post: All posts made when my counter is on 751 or beyond will not be considered. I will put a post here to commemorate that event.

In order to make sure the contest is actually a contest, this will only be a valid contest if 25 people or more make a guess.

I promise not to spam this forum in order to manipulate the post counter. I expect to keep posting the kind of posts as I do today.

You have read and understood the sections about the winners and the prizes and comply with those.

The competition will cease in case I unexpectedly happen to die or turn into a rabbit before posting 1000 items.
The winnersAs I do live in Europe, I'm very much used to filling a podium instead of 'just' celebrating one winner. Second and third place are also honorable and are expected to get a 'medal' or prize or some honorable mention. Thus, I am using the following principle:

The three people who guessed the closest date to the 1000th post will win a prize. This counts in both directions: I will look at the absolute deviation between your guesses and the date of the 1000th post.

In case two or more people end up with the same deviation for 'third' place, only the first person who posted will be considered for a prize. So if there's one with 2 days difference, one with 5 days and 2 with 7 days, only the first person to post the 7 days difference will be considered, together with the persons having a 2 and 5 day difference.

Of these three people, I will select the winner.

The winner guessed the prize that is closest to my possibilities (and thus most likely interests) and also close to your own interests, yet is still feasible for me to deliver for me. I will check this by seeing what you posted, where you posted and how you posted: I see no point in for example sending a series of zinc Danish 1 Øre coins to a die hard bullion collector, as it probably won't bring him or her any joy.
The prizesThere will be three prizes: one main prize and two 'small' giveaways. Now here's the fun part of this competition: you can propose your own prize!

You can propose the prize you can win.

However, the prize should be something that is feasible for me to deliver and fun for you to receive. But keep it realistic, please!

In other words: people who get to know me best over the maximum 750 posts will probably increase their chances to win. The optimum would be if I can offer something from one of my areas of interest that also fits in your area of interest: that way it's most fun to both give and receive the prize.

In order to determine if you found an area of common interest, I will actually look a bit through your posting history.

Bonus points are given for creative proposals! I know this is a coin forum, but I'm not limited to 'just' coins and related things. So go crazy but keep it feasible for this European guy.

In case the top 3 finishers all have unfeasible and/or unrealistic prize suggestions (and promised, I will try to follow up as good as I can, but I'm out of unicorns right now), then I will still pick the most creative one that's closest to my possibilities and our interest and create a prize myself based on his or her input: something that's both fun to give and fun to receive. I will also be creative, then.

And now for the other podium finishes:

For the two people closest in the follow-up (the two people who guessed the date right but didn't stand out in the prize proposal), I am offering to send a set of 6 Scandinavian coins: 1 Øre, 2, Øre, 5 Øre, 10 Øre, 25 Øre and 50 Øre.

You can select if you are interested in Norwegian, Danish or Swedish coins. Years and coin types will be chosen at random (unless you can convince me otherwise), but all will be from the 20th century and none will be silver. Please post your preference with your guess.

I'll do my best and send you some nice looking coins. Expect nicely circulated coins.
Please note that all three podium finishers will also win bragging rights.
tl;drHere's the executive summary of this contest:

Post the expected date when I will post my 1000th quality post here, but before I make 751 posts.

Be creative and suggest which prize you want to win from me. I'm open for any suggestion and not limited to coins. Make sure that your suggestion is in your post, too. Suggestions of what may work are posted in the novel above.

Your post should contain if you prefer Norway, Sweden or Denmark.

Be patient an wait until I made 1000 quality posts: if you're in the top 3 you will get a prize.

...

Profit!
Please feel free to post any questions or comments in this topic. I'd be happy to help.
So... good luck to all competitors and may the force be with you, or so...
