You should post the specific coins you need. A lot of us are happy to help contribute to the "coin delinquency of a minor". haha, I am working on the update list/progress tonight :) Thank you JBUCK

quick progress update, sorted and placed 1940 -58 tonight. ps sorry for not the clearest pic, and some of those are definitely total junk but slot fillers and crossing fingers, but id rather have them there than none at all.

Most important is that you actually got started with this, that is usually the hardest part. So that's done. I think quite a few people here have a strategy of continuously updating and improving their collections, so having a few placeholders can also be seen as a good thing: it means that you'll have something to look forward to and work with in the future.

Feeling the numismatic love in this thread...

Just wanted to comment on the post suggesting getting some boxes from the bank for circulated coins... I would say this is probably not the way to go, as most wheaties have disappeared from circulation. It'd be a lot of searching for little payback.

True that, Matthew was quite a female dog. Would be great to see new pictures of the progress!

Late to the thread, but great story to say the least. And it involves ice cream! I hope Matthew was not too hard on your area.

This is such a great story to follow -- it brightened up my day. CoinMom4, a few years ago I met a woman in my neighborhood that did almost the same thing when she was a kid. She and her brother took her father's IHC collection to buy candy. Back then you could buy penny candy so they depleted the collection Two Cents at a time. I expect that such stories are not uncommon.

***** UPDATE, happy ending***** Not sure if I should post this here or start a new post, but I definitely want to update everyone who was involved with this since it has been so long and I haven't been around for awhile. If I see that this gets noticed or I get directed to do a new thread, I will then post a full update.
