This may be more suited to the British or World coin forums, I know that Ashmore was heavily involved in forging Charles I Siege coinage. I believe the siege coins are of the same era as the coins you are searching for, mid 1600s?

Are talking about modern counterfeits of English colonial America coins? If so, they appear to be in violation of the HPA.

I believe they were done in the last 50 years. I think he made replica coins as well as coins that could potentially deceive collectors.

Interesting. So if they were made before 1975, they were done before the HPA went into effect.

Passed in 1973, but did not come into effect until 1975 when final regulations were published.

Didn't come into effect until 1975 but it specifies that pieces made after 1973 have to be marked.
