Sure wish I was with you there. Around me we have at least 3 coin shows a month, every month. Occationally way to many at the same time. That is what happened to me last Sunday. More than one show at the same time. I went to my favorite one and was shocked at only about 1/3 the usual dealers and even less customers. I got there early as usual and for the first time noticed the parking lot was rather empty. Inside things got worse. Although a coin and currency show, usually only 1 of about 30 or 40 dealers with currency. This time only about 15 dealers and 3 with only currency. Then some tables also contained camcorders, fountain pens, arrow heads, miscellaneous jewlery and 2 tables of watches. Didn't leave much in the way of coins. The person I usually buy 2x2's from was sold out of them. I don't really like slabbed coins and about 75% or more of what coins were there were all slabbed. I spent more on gas going there than spending at the show.
More shows soon. Somewhere is April I've heard we have another massive big one coming up on top of the usual, standard, all the time shows.
Kind of great living in an area where we have coin shows, gun shows, knife shows, computer shows, camera shows, cat or dog shows and just about anything else imaginable. Museums, Aquariums, Planataiums, Zoos and on and on and on. Could never figure out why anyone would stay home.
