Nice find!

Still, with all the circulation wear it's probably worth about 5 cents.

Even uncirculated proofs aren't worth much unless they grade a PF69-70.

Yeah, bummer. But, even a very nice ungraded proof like that (year, design) might fetch a dollar.

Graded PF69 - $5-10
Graded PF70 - $10-20

That's what I generally found on ebay.

It is definitely a nice unusual find getting a proof in a roll though!

My LCS sometimes puts the proof coins into circulation-perhaps from a collection or a broken set. That is, circulation in the US when he makes a trip there. There is no market for these in his business.

Talking with the online shop I get my supplies and some coins from, a lot of set crackers will dump the less than absolutely flawlessly, gem rated, eye-candy proofs just to be rid of them. Some years like the 1991S & 1999S LMC Proofs were notoriously poor from the mint, most cracked proofs may have rated 62-64, a lot got dumped. I've found a 99S besides many others in circulation. I've wound up w/2-91S & 3-93S dimes broken out from sets that way.
