Got this in change yesterday. When looking at it this evening the MM caught my eye. I haven't found any RPM's in my change yet. Is this one? The MM looks similar to the ones on Coppercoins.com.

1969-S-LMC-RPM-Or-PMD?

1969-S-LMC-RPM-Or-PMD?

1969-S-LMC-RPM-Or-PMD?

1969-S-LMC-RPM-Or-PMD?

So RPM or PMD? Which is it?

Thanks again...Mont
Rest in Peace

Where do you see it? The date? If so, worn die and a bit of MD.

Here's some reference:

1969-S-LMC-RPM-Or-PMD?

1969-S-LMC-RPM-Or-PMD?

These are the 2x's, Mont.

The MM. There is a raised part in the upper loop. Almost looked like a die chip there. This is what caught my eye. There also is a raised part just above the lower serif on the MM. extends into lower loop.

Just saw your reference. What I am looking at seems to be a common problem but not part of the RPM....Oh well I'll find one eventually.

It does look like there was an issue with a damaged punch on that mint mark.
Rest in Peace

Yes Coop, seemed a common problem with a lot of years...makes you wonder just how many years the same punch may have been used?

The dies were probably not softened when they added the mint mark punch. So the punch was probably hardened, punching into a hardened die, so they probably didn't last too long. They were also used on different denominations as well.
