It's gotta be a big one...as the calendar rapidly approaches Canada's 150th...right? Coupled with the fact that the May releases were quite limited in numbers...and July August is lower production phase for RCM - June should be extraordinary in size and style... Let's hope it's also extraordinary in substance too-to mark the momentous occasion... Could this be RCM's grand slam greatest release of all time? Or will they fail to impress us in commemorating this special moment for all Canadians? Great expectations await...

I agree with the points, that you brought, Electrum, and we may expect for the good release. But if to expect this way: Quote:Could this be RCM's grand slam greatest release of all time? It surely will be disappointment at the end. Without knowing about release, it expected to be: **More items than usual **Some items will appeal for collectors - these who collects for design, and others who collect for "rarity" Lets wait...anyway, always nice to see some great coins (if any)

I'm guessing we could see the Canada 150 logo in full colours on perhaps a 2 oz or 5 oz silver as RCM loves colour coins and surprisingly no logo in colour yet...

Fully expect this release to be massive....and most of the coins won't reach collectors before July 1st which will be anti-climactic. Not saying it will be a good release necessarilty, but I am half expecting to see a Murano glass kitchen sink on a $20 coin.
The Mint shows on their website that the Canada150 collection is going to be 48 coins and to date only about half of those have come out....what better time than for Canada Day.
Canada Post annouced commemorative Canada150 stamps yesterday celebrating same-sex marriage equality rights. Will the Mint do the same with a coin? I can't see why not.

July should be the month for "big releases" since Canada's 150th anniversary is July 1, 2017.
I don't think we will see too many big releases for June.

July's release would normally be in the first week of the month. I guess it makes " RCM" sense to have a big Canada150 release after July 1st. I mean, Christmas trees sell best on December 28th. Right? But alas it seems the June release has no Canada150 items and highlights a fabricated 30th anniversary of the loonie. We already know Steve Bromberg is bringing something special on June 30th to the Shopping Channel. Maybe the Mint is planning a special late June Canada150 release instead or in addition to the July release?
