docdaddy New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 06/30/2017 3:56 pm MANY years ago I collected world coins, as a kid (MANNNY years ago ;) ) Recently I made a friend who is very much into the hobby and he gave me a "starter" coin he believes is from Ancient Rome or Greece. Finn235 Pillar of the Community United States 6130 Posts	Posted 06/30/2017 4:29 pm For starters, it's a Roman provincial coin, made for local use in the provinces. The reverse has a "priest ploughing with oxen right" which was used by a handful of cities. Still trying to figure out the bust, but my guess is 1st century AD. My gut said Domitian, but I can't find a match. Provincial coins rarely used the "imperial" portrait so they are extra tough to figure out. Report this Post to the Staff

Can you also provide the size and weight of the coin. The bust does look a bit like Domitian but I can't say for sure. Report this Post to the Staff
