Hi Archraz,
Nice to hear - I love Alexander III tetradrachms!
In addition to echizento's sound advice:
1. Download a copy of The coinage in the name of Alexander the Great and Philip Arrhidaeus. It is the most useful reference when it comes to Alexander the Great silver coinage. It is freely available. Hardcopy is out of print and you are looking at around USD 500 for the 2 volumes! If you cannot find the link, let me know and I can email you the PDFs I have saved on my computer.
Alternatively you can look at the many example on Wildwinds.
2. From that, look at the plates and work out which types you like the most. For example, you might like the "classic" tets from Amphilpolis, the more exotic ones from Mesembria or Odessos, or the large flans of tets from Temnos. My profile photo is a give away for which are my favourite.
3. Vendors on ebay sell Alexander tetradrachms at inflated prices in my opinion, especially the slabbed ones . Gone are the days where you could find great bargains on ebay it seems. Slabbing appears to be licence for inflating prices dramatically when it comes to ancient coins on ebay. You can always buy the coin and send it to Sear or another certification service after you buy it.
4. Whichever coins(s) you land on, make sure to ask the Dealer if they can offer you a better price. Sometimes you will find Dealers are prepared to come down in price, especially if are a regular customer or intend to purchase a group of coins in one transaction.
Hope this helps!
