Hi New Member here. I collect many types of coins but I have one I just found that stumps me, What is this 1956 Washington silver quarter,It looks like a clear mint error (obverse) but I can find no info on it. Does anybody know what happened here or seen one like this? Thank you for any info

, if you would get a better picture we could see for sure if it's a die chip or a hit. if it's a die chip it wouldn't have any extra value any-how.

Welcome! I'm apt to agree with John1. You would benefit from a clearer picture BUT from what I see I think it took a hit and flattened out.
DD's...on the hunt: 95, 92, 83, 72, 71, 70, 69, 64, 59, 58, 55, 47, 42, 41, 39, 35, 34.

(Found since (August 2017) signature creation: 82 DDR)

I lean toward a die chip, similar to the kind often seen in "BIE" Lincolns.
