I'm New & Not A Collector, Found Coins?

I'm not sure if they're authentic or just reproductions. Second, these are purporting to be California gold, but huge numbers were made either as fakes or for jewelry. As you can read in the previous thread below, examples with either a bear on them or no denomination (like yours) tend to not be the real thing. Crazyb0 Rest in Peace 10197 Posts	Posted 09/23/2017 10:55 pm They are tourist pieces, copies of early California restrike pieces (1875?), many forms were made as restrikes had very little gold content, the copies have none. You can tell they are copies because the font style of date is wrong for that period. Report this Post to the Staff
