Hello everyone.
My name is William, and I would first like to say what a great this is, as I have been lurking for quite a while. I decided to register because I really do enjoy this place. I have always been interested in finding errors when presented with a bowl of pennies, and have done so on and of for 20 years or so.
Recently things have changed as I now actually want to drive 8 hours north and take a trip to the Denver Mint. An amigo of mine has collected coins for 60 years and I have come to learn to appreciate the beauty of coins and want to learn more about the process of minting. I know someone who owns a coin/gold and silver shop here in town and has been in the business for 40 years or so who is starting to teach me.
I really don't know much except for the fact that I am going to ask him for guidance as far as getting my first coin graded. I recently came into a few 1970's half dollars that are uncirculated and it is obvious that this is what I should do.
Thanks for reading this, and if anyone has been to a mint I am wondering if you purchased a souvenir set from the gift shop.
Thank you

The only time I went to the mint in Philly: I was fairly young, not big in to collecting, and that was SO long ago I don't remember if I got something or not.
