will do. what indicates to you that it might be tooled? also, looks lds or vlds? strike seems pretty sharp for a die late in its life, I think.

Some of the obverse features look a little too 'cut in' to me ... i.e. the mouth.. ... and a questionable area to the left of the L in liberty. LDS coin.

This being LDS, I am surprised that it has no cracks. One of the favorite things I love about this coin are the leaves to the left of the H in HALF. Those leaves show the fully struck exterior raised outline of the two leaves. Love seeing that kind of detail on an early copper coin.

I think that I was able to attribute this coin as Cohen-10 (C-10) and Breen-9 (B-9). The diagnostics are the 4 in the date (1804) higher than the 180 and the 4 close to the 0. On the reverse there is a Cud that attaches the R in AMERICA to the rim. The 2 in the 200 in the fraction is high relative to the 00. C-9/B-8 has a 4 that is further away from the 180 in the date.

It looks very well struck and the color would be my concern. Devices appear high AU and it's a $1,000 coin if problem-free.

something seems off on this coin. I think it has been doctored to look original....I am thinking it has been cleaned and someone is attempting to pass it off as a coin that will grade straight. My assessment AU details cleaned....among other possible things. Definitely post better pics when you do get it.

This came in. The reverse has bright blue splashes but I could not capture it in these pics. Maybe I'll try again later. Don't see evidence of tooling.

I chatted with Rick Gross who is an early U.S. copper expert and long time EAC member. He feels the surfaces appear original enough for the TPG gods. He also confirmed my attribution of Cohen-10.
