@acisseJ, first welcome to CCF. Second, please post anothner pic of your coin that is cropped, better lit, and facing up correctly. That will make things a lot easier on us. That said, if I squint, it kinda looks like you have a Cud next to the left wheat stalk. Is that what you are looking at? Added: If it is a Cud, you could look for your example on the cuds-on-coins website. I'm thinking it might be CU-1c-1940S-11R, but definitely need a better pic to be sure.

I agree, the picture is too small. Crop the image to remove the blank surrounding the coin, that way the actual image can be larger. Here is the CCF Free Image Optimizer to help crop your images. Please preview your post/pictures to be sure they are rotated correctly.

to the forums Like Spence said it is called a Rim Cud, and no it is an unlisted variety on the website that tracks these errors. It is a mint error, where a portion of the die has broken off and causes that effect. Show both sides of your coin if you would, next time and line them up, use the "preview" feature to check first.

We really need a better pic. It could be a Cud, or it could be a retained Cud. It is not doubled, but would still be a nice error to find either way.

with Coinfrog. it is a Retained Cud and it is a beauty. Now you need to put it in a 2x2.

A much better pic! Clearly shows a Retained Cud. It is a 1940S or P? There are a whole bunch on the cuds-on-coins website to compare against your coin.

with Retained Cud. That's a great find! Looks like a nice coin, too.
