I have a 2001 D Roosevelt dime that appears to be made out of either copper or some other material yet it has a tiny bit of silver in it that you can see along the edges !
I would greatly appreciate any information that any member has tp shareon this particular coin and what it actually is ?
Thank you in advance for your input

to CCF. We need a photo. It might just be environmental damage, that is what it sounds like.

I moved your post to the appropriate section for the proper attention.

its probably environmental toning.

Here is the tutorial about uploading and posting images

And here is the CCF Free Image Optimizer to help crop your images.

Please preview your post/pictures to be sure they are rotated correctly.

.jpg and .gif are the file type extensions allowed here. Once you upload the file to the Optimizer, adjust the size (width) bit by bit to get the image size under 300kb (far right number directly above image). After that, select the Download button and then select the green down arrow next to each image to actually download them. Then, in your post, select Upload Image and choose the recently downloaded optimized images to upload one at a time. I hope this helps.

While the image is mirrored, it is there!

I assume the coin in question is in the middle. That coin shows signs of environmental discoloration, or toning. That is simply due to the environment which that coin was exposed to.

One telling factor is something you've already noticed: high points, including the rim, show the underlying silvery color because of wear.

You have Environmental Damage (ED), not an error. It's Post Strike Damage, since it happened after it left the U.S. Mint.
