Hey Guys,
Can anyone help with informing me what I am seeing here on the word Liberty on this 1921 Buffalo nickel.

Theres a die crack running from the rim down left side of I to forehead. This then has become smashed from circulation and worn off.

Looks as if the I started chipping, then crack developed.

Good call @crazyb0. I didn't see that die crack below the inscription at first, but I think that you are right.

Just as there are "BIE" Lincoln cents, are there "LIIBERTY" Buffalo nickels?
