Rules are simple, the best find could be a cherrypick or a silver hoard you found in a box (maximum of 5 at once. Meaning you went through up to 5 to have your Best ever), or your Best metal detecting find. There's no rubric and the best is the best to YOU. Have fun!

Is that an 1896? Great find, I've yet to find and IHC in 200 cent boxes. But I've found 2 1909 V-Nickels.

I found an 1887 IHC in just 1 roll of pennies from a post office. That was an amazing find for me. Also the roll was a Loomis armored roll.

My first week back into roll hunting in 2008, I scored an 1894 Barber half. Wife, working as teller, found 58 solid wheat rolls at once. She also found two solid rolls of steel wheats at once. I've found over one dozen solid rolls of silver halves. Oldest detecting find was a 1758 Spanish silver, in a farmyard here in lower Mich.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

Quote: I've found over one dozen solid rolls of silver halves. That's nice, but I got you beat there. I once got 11 Rolls of 90% Quarters, and 22 Rolls of 90% Rosies at FV. 1 Roll's worth of SLQ's, and 5 Roll's worth of Mercs. I got a 21 P' and 21'D Merc in there I sold to the LCS!

They've found tons of old coins and relics. Their first find was a 1615 Spanish 2 Real. Their best was a 1547 hammered Spanish silver (Denomination Unknown) got whacked by the plow but still nice!

I've spent the past year buying lots of medium/high end coins from auction houses to flip while building my collection. These came from a huge liquidated collection of mostly classic commemorative half dollars. Parted with a lot of real purdy coins, but I made about $300 and got to keep these for free. From another auction house, in a mixed lot of mostly Greek coins, average $35 each: Kyme, Aeolis silver trihemiobol, 5th century BC. Unique, the only specimen of this denomination known, previously sold at Roma Numismatics for almost $400 by a collector who forgot to include the ticket and sale info when reselling it, dooming it to be sold in a lot! Also got this whomper bronze from Ptolemaic Egypt, Ptolemy IV. 43mm, 65 grams! It was in a small lot with another of the type in lower condition; sold that one for more than the lot cost me, making this one free!

Wow! That's massive and awesome! It looks great, asides from some minor bronze disease it looks highly detailed! Quote: Kyme, Aeolis silver trihemiobol, 5th century BC. Here's one of my best scores ever. It's a 1918 P LWC and a 1910 P LWC, found in a OBW mix circulated roll, from a brick box of U.S. Pennies. http://goccf.com/t/326625
Errers and Varietys.

"I got you all the coin books they had." My kids are all readers, and when local libraries hold "buck-a-bag" sales we try to go. My oldest came out one time with two bags, which included 30 various Whitman folders, many about half full of circulated LWCs, LMCs, Jefferson nickles, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters, Franklin and Kennedy halves, and four 'type set' folders that also had Indian cents, V nickles, Buffs, Mercs, Standing Liberty quarters and halves, and two Peace dollars. Lots of silver, only real key was a 1909 VDB cent. I guess someone donated them, and someone decided they weren't wanted. Not bad for a buck!
