From 1976. At the time, greysheet bid for an arrows half in XF was $50. Well this one is also a CC. I paid $50. It has toned since this pic was taken, and PCGS has graded it XF, although it has claims to AU.

Quote:My oldest came out one time with two bags, which included 30 various Whitman folders, many about half full of circulated LWCs, LMCs, Jefferson nickles, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters, Franklin and Kennedy halves, and four 'type set' folders that also had Indian cents, V nickles, Buffs, Mercs, Standing Liberty quarters and halves, and two Peace dollars. Lots of silver, only real key was a 1909 VDB cent. I guess someone donated them, and someone decided they weren't wanted. Not bad for a buck! That's Sick!

In 1995, I searched a $25 box of Lincoln cents fresh from the local bank (while I lived in southern Maryland). Found 50 (fifty) uncirculated 1995 Doubled Die Obverse ( DDO) Lincoln cents during a single hunt session. Got another $25 box from the same bank the next day...nothing. I dispersed my mini-hoard over the years. I still have a few specimens. Runner-up is the cherry picking of two 1900 O/CC Morgan dollars while I was stationed (USAF) in the Big Sky Country (Montana).

My best find of all time while coin roll hunting was my "Mother of All Boxes", which had 748 90% silver half dollars in it and 1 40% silver half. The best picks I ever made from a coin shop was a R.M. Kellogg Good for 5 Cents token that I bought for 10 cents out of a foreign junk bin and resold for $316, and an XF details token made from iron taken from the armor plates of the confederate ironclad Merrimac that I bought from a foreign junk bin for 33 cents which I still own, but its probably worth around $800 bucks or so. The original "Mother of all Boxes" thread is here. http://goccf.com/t/48517&whichpage=1
