I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this nickel. It has an imprint of stamp of a partial dime on it. Is it an error or does it look like someone stamped it there.

Thanks

to the CCF! First try to orient your pics correctly and if you would please take close up pics of the area affected, also a pic of the reverse. Hard to tell what you have from the pic you posted.

@415black, first welcome to CCF. Second, it is a little hard to see what you have there, but it looks to me like someone glued a dime to this quarter and then removed the dime, but left the clear glue. What you are seeing is the remnant imprint of the dime. The lettering and devices for the dime should be backwards.

To CCF! Just glue residue. Not an error coin. Just Post Strike Damage ( PSD) unfortunately. Your coin is only worth face value.

Is the reverse normal? If it is normal, then two coin were put in a vise together and tightened down. The the reverse is showing damage, that is what happened. If it is showing an impression on the reverse, then it was three coins put into a vise with the nickel in the center. Can't see for sure, but if it was as I mentioned, the devices should be mirrored on the coin. PSD.
