Now there are two states, Washington and Iowa. Minnesota is still grayed out but not charging, just getting ready. Those poor people in these states. Their families must really be rethinking online purchases, at least from EBay! (Bezos with 11 billion profit and paying zero taxes with 100 million dollar rebate probably got around this somehow.)

I see that on my listings too, but ebay must be handling collecting the tax, and not the seller. If sellers had to deal with this.......

Won't people in these states start looking for foreign companies that won't charge them sales tax?

Once this spreads to multiple states, it seems like it will really discourage online coin sales via eBay. Or it will depress selling prices after buyers figure in the tax amount.

It's already spread to basically every state, just a lot of states don't charge for coins

If you guys sell coins on eBay, does Washington state not charge tax for you as you are selling coins? My ancient coins clearly always charge sales tax from that state and I am told should not have been taxed.

Not sure I understand eBay's plan. They currently charge sales tax in Washington, despite Washington state having an exemption for coins. And they don't charge sales tax in multiple other states that do tax coins. Are they going to just roll this out state by state?
