On this 1961 nickel I found a few thing witch look like die breaks now I know my close up pics suck, just wanted to get y'alls opinion.. Its on the back of the nickel mostly where "UNUM" The "N" and "M" look cracked also maybe some doubling
The coin images are too close. I can't even figure out what you are looking at. no mint marks were missing on all the previous nickels before 1980, except for the silver War Nickels. So not having a mint mark tells me it is from Philadelphia.
Keep in mind that as a die wears, the devices move to the edge of the coin. That is what you are seeing. Die Deterioration. It does get worse. So your coin is not the only one like this.
As mentioned it is coin contact. An incuse mark on a coin/design/devices is often coin damage 95% of the time. They take quite a beating out there and life for them is not always kind. (unless they make it into a collection)
