This kind of error tends to be scarcely seen prior to 1960 with Canadian 1-cent coins... this one is a really nice AU, and my oldest off-centred broadstruck cent. I also picked this one up at the Trajan auction, and I think the auction photos and catalogue description did not do this coin justice (it was not called an error in the listing title - so most searches probably missed it), because I was the only bidder and was surprised how cheap I got it... I love it.

The cool thing is that the planchet was scratched pretty good before the strike. This just shows how much pressure was used to strike the coins - the scratch on the planchet was eliminated by the fields of the reverse die.
