And some closeups:

Unfortunately the toning is a bit blotchy but it does appear to have a mirror surface, or possibly I am seeing things.

Anyway, this is as much to see if I can photograph well enough so that others can grade properly and/ or determine if it may be a proof.

Feedback, even negative would be welcome.

MS64 With light frosting. Give it a dip. It may have been PL at some point and toned over.

i don't believe this coin is a good candidate for a dipping.. there is some heavy dark marks on the obverse of the coin, that would tell me, you would be left with uneven surface discoloration after a dip..my opinion only..

Don't dip it. Does not look like a proof coin. What type is it? I am not into Morgans.

No proof Morgans were struck in San Francisco. I would not dip it.

Good decision. About 64 or so, cool-looking the way it is.

It's a good strike, but kinda like a good woman, sometimes you have to see below the surface.

I'm in agreement with numismaticstudent on this 87-S, I can't tell from photos but I would say details maybe MS61 or MS62, more likely just a details uncirculated grade. I see some nasty deep scratches on the stars to left of date and around neck under chin. The surfaces don't look good like an exposure to moisture for a long time. maybe stored wrapped in wet/damp newsprint at one point.
