They're supposed to be pure silver, 99.93% to be more precise, and the weight should be 1 troy ounce or 31.103 grams that only leaves 0.07% for the copper and it should be a make-up of the alloy and not a core as with clad coins. Some toned, some a little scratched up and some just exposed and ugly but none look like that picture. I'd be really suspicious because it looks like a plating gone bad. Report this Post to the Staff

Misty1 New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 08/26/2008 6:52 pm I will try to take better pictures, the area in question is coming out darker than appears to be, probably from the scanner. The weight and "silver sound" all appear to be geniune. I have hundered of silver eagles, and I do not suspect this to be other than geniune. I will try to submit it as a mint error to be graded.
