I found a dime that's thicker than a standard dime and the reeding was barely stamped. Any opinions on what it might be worth before I take it to a coin shop I'm hoping for a general idea of what it could be worth so I do get low balled. Okay one last time. It's thicker than a regular dime and the reeding wasn't worn off in a dryer. Instead of weighing 2.2 it weighs 2.4 grams. Unfortunately my pictures aren't very clear.

That is a dryer coin. The weight will be normal, the outside edge of the coin will be reduced, because of dropping over and over in a commercial clothes dryer.

Yes a dryer coin. No need to stop in at your LCS--it is only worth face value.

Unless you want to trick him. If he thinks it valuable, then tell him what it is. Pay forward the information. You may develop a new friend.

Don't even try selling this. It's been damaged after it left the U.S. Mint and is worth face value.

It won't working in a vending machine. Take it to a bank and turn it in to be sent back to the mint to be canceled.

Could also have been damaged intentionally. It may have had the edge hammered. Intentionally or by accident it is still damaged.

You don't get to make a new insulting topic when you don't get the answer you want to hear.

This is indeed a damaged coin. We've literally seen thousands of these here. It's done by spooning or a dryer.

If you insist that you're right, the next step is to fork out some dough and send it to PCGS or NGC and then when it comes back a legit error you come back and rub it in our faces. We'll wait.
