I'm out of my league with ancient coins. This coin has Sabina Augusta on the obverse and Venus holding an apple on the reverse. Reverse has inscription, Veneri Genetrici (Mother Venus). It weighs 3.54 g and is about 18 mm. Someone definitely cleaned it up but it looks too good to be from 128 AD. My Liberty nickels should be so lucky.

Also, I found pictures on the internet but they are slightly different (see example), especially with placement of the lettering. Is that typical? Do I need to take a bite on it like shoeshine boy on Underdog (oops, probably gave away my age)?

Im afraid it looks cast to me - those waves in the hair have been filled in, which could only happen with extra material, not from wear. It also has the 'look' of a modern forgery.

@HH, could you please add a couple pics showing the edge of this coin? I'm out of my league on this one, but know that we shouldn't see a parting line (or evidence of one having been removed).
