Okay so 18 rolls of pennies and on roll 10 I find this shiny 68 penny with a funny S mint mark and it's in really good shape so I looked into it and we'll let me know what y'all think.. Found in Northwest Detroit with tons of other cool stuff..Thanks for input..Holiday

I looked for about an hour and that's why I decided to post this here.. A couple sites said it should have a spot on reverse under memorial on left..So it's common not an error?

It is DDO-001, WWHO-001, and 1DO-002.

CONECA (VarietyVista) and CopperCoins believe it is a doubled die while Wexler believes this is a doubled working hub.

I lean towards it being a doubled die. I have looked at hundreds of 1968 cents from all mints, only found one with this type of doubling.

Nice Doubled Die! Definitely not Machine Doubling, as the devices are increased in size, not reduced.

I feel John Wexler has it right. I asked him years ago about that issue and I felt it was not a legit doubled die. They were common to find with different mint mark locations. When this happens a lot, then you know it is Working hub issue.
