I am just getting interested in coins and this is my first exciting find. . . . . I know less than nothing about coins or collecting so I ask you for all opinions / observations / facts and/or information.... And without further ado, I present to you my very first error coin:

It looks like you have a dryer coin. It didn't leave the mint like this. It spent some time inside the drum of a dryer (or something that tumbled it around.) It's not an error, just damaged. Only worth 50.

Sorry. Keep looking! You'll find something!

to CCF. What does the edge look like? It does look like a dryer coin to me as well.

First welcome to CCF. Second, yes that would explain the heavy rim on the reverse of this coin plus the missing details.
