Can someone tell me I'm not crazy? I found this dime in my change and it looks like the nickel clad surface is extremely thin and it almost has the look of a 1950's black beauty Jefferson nickel. From the edge, it also looks like the dime is thinner than a normal 2019 P as seen in these pictures. What do you guys think?

To CCF! Maybe the employees at the U.S. Mint accidentally used the wrong type of stock?

Thanks for the welcome! Something definitely seems wrong with it. The cladding looks dark for lack of a better term... I'm looking for some opinions on if I'm seeing things or not.

@d4c, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please post the weight of this coin?

Spence, Unfortunately I don't have a scale yet to weigh the coin with. That's one of my future purchases. I've been out of collecting for a while and I am just jumping back in. Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Just looks like environmental toning from circulation, and the rim doesn't look thinner, it just looks rounded down on the edges.

Antmark3d, it is just as dark as the front. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow for you. I'm not near the coin right now unfortunately.

Well, the weight came up 2.258 on the bright coin and 2.250 on the darker coin, so I think it is within specs for the coin. It doesn't seem to be an error, but on the good side, I have a scale for my coins now. Lol
