How Common are Fake Indo-China Piastres, especially on platforms like eBay? I only ask as I was doing a quick search and stumbled across this 1908A specimen, which appears to be a terrible fake to me... ->

I've seen quite a lot of fakes of these. When I was in China in 2001 I saw them at the tourist shops where the tour buses stopped.

Fakes of these are everywhere .
Too bad CBP CBSA and other Customs agencies around the world
Can't stop this crap that is a scourge on our hobby!

A much greater proportion of fakes of these now, than before about the year 2000.
Sadly, that is the case with a lot of scarce World crown sized silver coins and U.S. Dollars.

Almost all since that date seem to be Chinese.

No surprise that Trump is trying to do his bit protect America from cheap, sometimes shoddy, and in some instances, copy Chinese imports.

There are large numbers of these fakes having different dates and varying quality from good to poor.
