*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

I hope I'm posting these in the correct place. Thank you everyone for you feedback. I'd like to send this to PCGS and need an experts opinion on exactly what I have and value for insurance and shipping on their submission form. I found these coin roll hunting and after going through thousands of coins I found three of these in the same roll. Thank you again...

Are you referring to the marks next to the chin, or the beard itself or ?

Again, to CCF...my suggestion, stick around and read as much as you can, if you're interested in coin collecting and errors and varieties...The good news is that you posted your coin here before sending it in, the bad news is the value of your coin is printed on the back of it. What you're seeing is either Machine Doubling or just a hit from another coin..good luck on future finds..hope you stick around

to CCF. Do not send to PCGS. Looks like MD or a well placed hit on the chin/beard.

There was an issue a few years back that had a similar look on all the Denver cents:

After looking at other examples, the same thing was found on all of the Denver cents.

And just so you know, the grading services won't ID a new variety. They simply put assigned numbers on the label from an attribution service.

You would have to send it to an attributing service (Variety Vista etc.) first for them to assign a number.
