My mom is back! I wish I had excellent news but it was only OK. I had around 50 coins, but they were badly stored, so about 35 were common and chucked as they were beyond saving. Of the rest about 15, a few were pretty bad and had to be cleaned/conserved. Honestly considering the condition, I didn't care, they were pretty bad that I couldn't even read the date. After doing a few soaks and some washing I was able to get around 10 in OK condition. Of the 10, 4 were silver (about $10 in melt value, if all else fails, I have $10) of the others a few were pretty old including a 1921 5 centavos, a South African coin, 2 Mozambique and 1 Angola coin. After washing, I dipped each one in acetone and patted dry. I'm not going to sell them, so I don't really care, but I had forgotten I picked up coins from circulation even when I was 6-7 years old. These are the silvers.
I wish I had stored them correctly, really stinks as a few where in AU condition but parts got covered in corroded metal. I saved or tried to save what had some value. The silver coins are in the best condition. The few copper ones are saved but they became the pink color of cleaned coins. :(
The nickel copper have copper stains, they aren't worth much so I might just leave them as Is :(
