I've looked through my coin jar and found an interesting Delaware quarter. The last "E" is completely missing in "The First State", showing "The First Stat". Two photos below show the error coin, and one photo is a side by side comparison with a regular 1999 Delaware State Quarter.

Just a minor filled through grease issue. The grease in the die prevented the devices from being struck. Common. It is when the devices are missing 80% or more, when they peak interest in collectors.

@km92, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes there was likely a little grease in the die when this coin was struck and the E in STATE is missing. Yours is a nice example of this phenomenon even if not worth a premium over face value.

Each State Quarter design seemed to have it's own quirk as to where grease would collect. The CT quarters lost letter in Charter Oak. The NH quarters tended to lose the mint mark, another one tends to lose the first T in TRUST, on the DE quarters it was the E in STATE. Back in 1999 these were being reported all the time.
