I am new to coin collecting, but feel I have honestly started off strong with it. I just need someone with the patience to be willing to over look my coins and inform me if any I have are of value. It's a collection that spreads from pennies to quarters.

If you have the time and patience, perhaps eBay is the way to go.

You need to be able to grade accurately for yourself, so that the condition for each coin that you decide on, can be related to a reliable pricing guide. The value you arrive at is your guide for your 'buy it now' price.

If you don't have the confidence to grade accurately,
select the coins that you consider to be the most valuable. Post pictures (one coin per post), and ask CCF members for their grading opinion.
That's practice for us, and valuable information for you, = win / win.

For lower valued coins, they are better sold in lots, rather than as singles. Auction houses do this for lots that have multiples of lower valued coins. (2 or more to hundreds).

Please pick out single coins that interest you the most, and post them in separate threads. We need good, large, clear photos of both sides of the coin, and close-up of areas you think may be out of the ordinary, and ask any questions you may have. Please note that we can't really give you cash values as that depends on many factors. A good place to look for prices is to search sold prices on eBay, as that shows what someone might actually pay you for the coin..it's the condition of the coin that determines value. Think wear your coin has under gone (or lack thereof). you can learn a lot online, but one of the best sources to learn about your coins and "rough" values is The Red Book of Coins. You can find it at your local library or cheaply on Amazon. Learn about what you have and don't be afraid to ask questions. We all started somewhere, and we'll be happy to help, if we can. Good luck! And to the CCF! You've come to the right place!

Agree- Ebay a good guide to see value and post picture of the more valuable finds for experts here (not one of them) to grade. Lots of really knowledgeable people here.

If you like them and you enjoy what you are doing then that's good enough. I wouldn't get hung up on their monetary market value if any.
