My Crown Jewels: German Kiaochou, 10 cents, 1909. 670,000 mintage. Perhaps my most coveted coin. Republic of China, 1 Dollar, ND (1912). My most expensive purchase. Portuguese Guinea, 5 centavos, 1933. 100,000 mintage. My best find ever.

I suspect for many folks, such as Yass and myself, their "crown jewel coin" will be their avatar. Mine is: a didrachm of Rhodes, circa 330 BC.

I wouldn't call it my crown jewel, but the most intriguing. It is my avatar. It has not been positively identified as of today. I think it is a private strike 1911 J Hamburg 20 mark. It has the weight and dimensions of similar coins of the period, but none were authorized by Hamburg. THANX ElleKitty - I will have to go through my collection and make a similar list

30 to 40 rolls of 1943 Steel Cents given to me over a period of time by my Dad when I was a kid and those coins just came out.

wwhitman, your coin really intrigues me that it might be a contemporary private strike. I seem to recall other unauthorized strikes in Germany, such as the 1951-G 2 Marken.

Probably this coin Double struck and it's currently an unknown variety as far as I am concerned. It's rather uncommon as well. Unfortunately holed but I don't really care.

When you collect Lincolns, this is a very difficult question to answer! So maybe a couple for us Lincoln addicts? This one for the outstanding quality: Image Insert: Image Insert: This one too because it was soooooo difficult to find raw in this grade. It's also matte proof-like, you read about these but they are very, very tough to find. Image Insert: Image Insert:
