Hmmm @TT, where are you seeing doubling on the mintmark? At least with this pic, I'm not really seeing it.

It just doesn't look right. Too fat in the south west and too thin in the north.

There is a match for this coin, it's every 1985-D cent out circulating today. No error to be found on this one, sorry.

Yes looking for mint errors can be a frustrating effort, but keep at it--you'll find something (and even if not, you are learning which is a good thing).
