Double Strike Or Die Clash? A 1989 US Penny. No MM, Reverse Side Error Coin

Tombstoner New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 03/05/2020 10:27 pm There is no question its an error coin. The questions: 1. How rare is a 1989 US Penny with a strike error? 2. Is it a Double Die, or Die Clash? On the reverse side, to the right of the Lincoln Memorial, is what appears to be the shadowed silhouette of the edge of the building. This penny is in remarkable shape, for pocket change, almost a mirrored sheen, save the single spot pictured. The shadow effect is caused vy a rise up, not a scratch down, so its not post mint damage.. Report this Post to the Staff

Machine Doubling is a common issue on coins. The strike happens and after the strike, the machine slides a small amount and will damage the devices. This affects the devices on one side of the devices. (Often on all on the coin in the same direction) Common. No premium for this. What does this Machine Doubling look like?
