I used a couple different lighting techniques in hopes I've hit on any shots suitable enough for your grade opinions. Much appreciated-Thank you!

I'm no expert on gold, but in my opinion I would guess XF-40- solely based on the Indian Head gold grading guide here on the forums. Those who are more familiar with these pieces correct me if I'm wrong but, the central devices on the reverse especially the feathers on the birds wrist are worn a bit. Same with the cheek and hair behind the eyes on the obverse. Still a great looking coin with lots of lustre (could be camera angle).

I'm certainly not very familiar with gold coins. I'd like to attribute the hits on the jaw and neck on the obverse and the legs on the reverse as bag marks, but the background fields are pretty clear, so it does look like it might have bounced around in someone's pocket. I'll go AU-58.

No worse than AU-58, and very possibly MS-62/63.

Thanks for the quick opening replies guys. Westernsky I too have been thinking along your feeling of around 62 on this one, but I'm inexperienced. The rims and fields are really clean and overall it has very nice intact original luster. I have seen higher grades with many more dings. Was pondering if this one just might have a bit of weaker strike than others rather than circulation wear? If anyone wants other photos I'm happy to give it my best rookie shot!

Just saw your reply Coinfrog, so add edit here. Thanks for your valued opinion!

MS60 but no more then 61 to me. Has mint luster despite some nasty marks.

I'm in the MS62 camp as well. Nice luster a few hits and dings keep it form higher, but it's not a circulated coin in my eyes.
